Secure Self Storage
DO I NEED MY OWN LOCK?
Yes, you will need to provide a lock for your storage unit. To make it easy, we sell the recommended type of lock you will need onsite in our business office. We do encourage customers to use these specific locks over other styles, as they are well suited for our units.
CAN I BRING MY OWN LOCK?
Yes, but most of our units are best secured with the type of disc locks we sell onsite. If you already have a lock and want to know if it will work, just ask your facility manager to help determine if it’s suitable.
DO YOU HAVE VIDEO CAMERAS?
Yes, most locations do offer security cameras with CCTV. We also offer well-lit facilities, onsite management, and quality locks for sale in our office. For added protection, we do require proof of insurance for your stored items. You can also purchase our Value Coverage plans instead of or in addition to private insurance.
WHO WILL HAVE ACCESS TO MY UNIT?
Only the lease holder and secondary contact Need consistent language, if applicable, may access the unit. If you are interested in storage for a college student, as a parent, you may be the lessee and then add your student as a secondary contact with access to the unit. This same scenario is ideal for commercial customers with multiple employees who need access.
WHAT IS KEYPAD ENTRY?
Gate access to the facility via a personal identification number (PIN). This makes it easy for customers to access their unit without having to keep track of a physical access tool, like a key or keycard. PIN numbers can be issued to specific individuals to help commercial customers manage and track employee access for record keeping.
HOW SAFE ARE THE UNITS?
Safety is a top priority at all StorageMart locations. Our storage facilities are designed with industry leading security features to help protect what you have to store. All locations are well lit, fully fenced, and equipped with 24/7 closed circuit television (CCTV).
WHAT IF I LOSE MY KEY?
Contact the facility manager during business hours. Do not attempt to cut your own lock as this may result in damage to the facility and/ or your property. We understand that this could be a very stressfulmoment for you, but the goal here is to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, not create new issues, so please let us help.
Gate Access
HOW DO I ENTER MY GATE CODE?
Follow the instructions on the keypad. The exact process may vary from location to location, so you will want to follow the prompts on the keypad. If you have any issues, you can call our 24/7 customer support line or contact the store manager during business hours.
WHAT DOES A “TIMED OUT” ERROR CODE MEAN?
Gate access hours are closed. If you see this error code, you will want to come back during normal access hours. If you would like to inquire about extended access hours at your location, please contact your facility manager.
WHAT DOES AN “ACCESS DENIED” ERROR CODE MEAN?
There is an overdue balance or your code was entered incorrectly. If your balance is past due, you can pay your bill online, over the phone, or with the store manager to bring your account into good standing. If you do not have an outstanding balance, retry entering your code. If neither scenario applies, contact customer care of the facility manager.
WHY WON'T MY GATE CODE LET ME OUT OF THE FACILITY?
You must use your (PIN number) at entry in order to use it when exiting the facility. If you did not use your code at entry, you can call 24/7 customer care for assistance. Customers should not enter the facility without entering their code, so if a well-meaning neighbor tries to hold the gate for you, just remind them that you need to enter your code in order to exit.
